January 11th Meeting

  • IMPORTANT. At the meeting we worked on writing job descriptions that will be posted on the BYU-I career website. This must be done in order to hire counselors. The hiring process will begin the 21st of January. PLEASE GET YOUR RESUME & COVER LETTERS IN AS AS POSSIBLE . (If you are not on track this semester but are planning on being a counselor, teacher, etc for the actual camp PLEASE send in your resume & cover letter also). Some of the jobs will be paid minimum wage. Your application will be sent to officials who are in charged of hiring (they will be advised by Seve and Katie as to the specific positions the applicants will be hired to fill).
  • MUST (asap) inform Seve Issacs whether or not you will be doing one of the following levels of involved: a) attending meetings & attending the entire camp b) attending meetings only c) attending the camp only or d) NOT attending the camp or meetings.
  • "Like" Grotto Theater Summer Camp on Facebook.
  • Seve and Katie have met with Bro. Linton. Bro. Linton is in charge of other summer camps in the surrounding area. He is aiding us in the planning, budgeting, advertising, etc.
  • Advertising: We discussed advertising to students in near by states; Katie's sister is a local high school theatre teacher and the states coordinator for drama/debate competitions; pitch the camp in local theatre classrooms; and use of posters.
  • The camp is projected to cost around $400 per participant. Lunch is provided in the cost, catered by BYU-I.
  • There is a need to recreate the roster.
  • During the meeting we took pictures that will be featured on a future blogspot.
  • March 2nd registration starts. We already have had two calls from people who are wanting to attend.
